(More customer reviews)I love my Line 6 POD X3 Live Guitar Multi Effects Pedal. With this modern marvel, you should be able to achieve just about any tone you can imagine (the Line 6 website explains its capabilities in detail). With a little experimentation, you should be able to easily find your own unique tone.

After a brief tutorial, and a few minutes with the included manual, it was easy for me to dial through the hundreds of amazing presets. While this device is quite easy to use right out of the box, it might take years to discover all of its capabilities. Mostly I am using the POD X3 Live to replace my existing effects pedals (distortion, chorus, flanger, delay, wah) for use with my Stratocaster. I doubt if I will ever use those pedals again. I am using the device plugged directly into the guitar input on my amplifier; it sounds great.

I also appreciate the built-in tuner (which mutes while tuning, of course), the headphone jack, the microphone input, and the USB output (to use your computer for recording and mixing). Another great feature, is its ability for separate tone processing of the guitar and microphone (vocal) inputs.

I would really love to have a comprehensive instructional DVD that explains how to setup the various "stomps" and "mods." The manufacturer (Line 6) does have many instructional videos posted on their channel on a popular video website; but it would be nice to have select instructional videos (on a DVD) shipped with the product.

(More customer reviews)First off,this guitar is amazing looking.I have the crimson red version.The guitar was setup with very low action on arrival.This makes playing alot easier if youre a shred type player.Getting used to the bigger fretboard on a 7-string was easier than i thought and i have average size hands.The inlays are a nice touch also.Now the reason i put ALMOST PERFECT!Reaching the 23rd and 24th fret is almost impossible unless you take your thumb off the back of the neck!Besides that you cant go wrong!

(More customer reviews)This one is a keeper.I have had my Schecter Tempest Custom in gloss black with gold hardware since February, 2010.The intonation on this guitar is fantastic.The neck is smooth and fast.While the factory Grover tuners were OK, I found I was retuning after every 2 songs or so.So, I put a set of Sperzel locking tunersSperzel 3x3 Gold Plated Locking Machine Heads, which fit very easily into the holes that were already in the head.They look fantastic (see photo above) and my tuning/retuning has gone way down.
For strings, I have been using Optima Golds (24 k gold-plated) that I have been buying overseas (best price, even with shipping - but check the exchange rates).
As far as my strap, I tried a few, but the last one I tried was the best - a Jodi Head Koi in Black and Gold Jodi Head Black Koi Fish 2.5 Silk Brocade w/ Adjustable Tail Guitar Strap.

Peavey's Raptor guitar is a made in China Stratocaster-like guitar.The quality, while not outstanding, exhibits high levels of workmanship.There are some minor finish issues, but the guitar is solid, and sounds and plays good.Like every electric guitar I've laid hands on, it requires a set up when new (about $40 at my local guitar shop).Once set up, the action is great and the sound rivals lower-end Fender Squiers and Mexican-made Fender standards.

The amp included in the package is serviceable, especially for a beginner.It's clean channel is solid, while the overdrive channel is satisfactory.Because it's a solid state guitar, the overdrive has an on/off type of feel and doesn't vary much with playing dynamics.It will get you started, but will leave you wanting more before too long.However, since it doesn't add much to the cost of the package (the guitar typically sells for about $120 by itself), it's a pretty good deal.

If you're interested in picking up an electric guitar to try it out, this is an inexpensive, quality package.

Schecter Blackjack C-1 Electric Guitar (Gloss Black) Review

(More customer reviews)After some research on other websites, I decided to buy this guitar off Amazon.This is a review of both that experience as well as the guitar itself.I ordered the guitar on a tuesday afternoon, and paid an extra four dollars to have it delivered next day, when it arrived at 10am on the wednesday.The guitar came sealed in a box from Schecter, and the serial number indicated it was an '09 model (meaning this wasn't a leftover of some sort).The guitar appears to be setup very well - no fret buzz, and only two strings weren't in tune (they were off by just a bit).The guitar appears to be brand new, and not a return or anything else sketchy.All in all, I got a good deal on this guitar from Amazon, and am pleased with the purchase and delivery of it.They do appear to have exceedingly good deals on some of the secondary guitar brands (like schecter and BC Rich, as opposed to fender and gibson) from time to time, with much better prices than other sites.

The guiter itself is great - check out the Schecter website for the full specs, but here's the lowdown: set neck, two seymour duncan humbuckers (a 59 and a JB), three way switch, two volume controls (one for each pickup) and a push/pull tone knob that allows for coil splitting.I wasn't totally clear on whether the coil splitting was on this model, so I'm glad to see it is.This guitar has extra jumbo frets, and what seems to me like a pretty extended range, compared to my Strat.It has a solid feel, isn't too heavy, sounds good, and has quite a bit of sustain.I've only had it a day so far, but it's what I expected, and is a solid guitar.It's not as pretty as some of the other schecter models (not that there's anything wrong with it, but some of the other models are gorgeous), but I was looking for something highly functional and exceedingly playable, and this one fits the bill.

(More customer reviews)Hagstrom HB-8 8 string bass guitaris great sounding instrument and is fun to play.The craftmanship is excellent.I like the unique look of the tuning keys.The bass has a six way selector rotary pot that gives you a variety of sounds.The scale length is 30.75".I had a little trouble finding a little D string that was long enough.I would suggest a .022 Bajo Sexto string.The bridge is heavy duty .I bought the Wild Cherry transparent finish that looks great.I am vey pleased with this bass and I would recommend this bass to someone looking a different sound.

G&L USA ASAT Electric Bass (Four String, Tinted Gloss Hard Rock Maple Neck) Review

(More customer reviews)It took me a little while to adjust to this bass, and initially I would give the sound and 5 but the playability a three or four. However, I was coming from a Japanese Aria with a thin neck that could really just shred. After getting used to the dynamic electronics of the G&L, adjusting the setup, and outfitting the bass with Elixir Super Lights, it's a joy to play. It's still chunkier than some European basses (seems most American basses are) but it's rock solid and has incredible sustain. It will make cheap amps sound expensive and expensive amps sound like gold. I keep away from the active option, but if you need extra punch and brightness, punch up the onboard EQ. One design gripe that I don't have to deal with since I never use the active electronics: no easy-to-open battery case. You've got to unscrew the whole back plate, so be god and don't strip the screws.

I highly recommend this bass. It plays above its price point and still provides a classic sound that I never hear from boutique basses. I say all of this having played (and loved) Ibanez SDGRs, Yamaha Stages, Warwick Corvettes (still have a fretless Std.), and OLPs as well as the Aria Pro I mentioned earlier.

(More customer reviews)This guitar is great! I play guitar since 17 years and I tried many brands and models, and I can tell you that this one is something special. First of all, it is a beautiful instrument with a wonderful finish (especially for a korean guitar that are very variable on that point of view) it is very pretty and well designed.

It is important to know that I don't personally much like mahogany guitars neither rosewood fingerboards (I'm a Fender american stratocaster maple neck and ash body fan and owner) but this guitar changed my mind about both woods. The mahogany body is surprisingly light and the neck is fast and pleases the hand.
Now the pickups : Well here is the only black spot. These active EMGs and very nice and not as typed as much EMGs (usually I don't like this brand much, DiMarzio got my heart here). They are pretty versatile especially due to the coiltap system, but they are not as silent as told... These simply doesn't like computers and power supplies that can cause a lot of hum, this can be stressful sometimes. Except that, they are very nice, work well with the mahogany body (and neck) and don't make much noise with a guitar combo.
The playability is wonderful, great access to the 24 frets, the neck is just right pretty similar to my stratocaster's neck, mine may need a little fret job because of some fretbuzz on the low E, but nothing serious.

Overall, this is a light, very playable, great looking, nice sounding cheap guitar. Try it, it's worthy.

Both of these Basses are my favorite.It has the Action and rumble of a Rickenbacker 4001 and the flexibilty and Tone of a Fender Jazz Bass.Great for a Musician starting out who cant quite afford a Gibson.For the price,you can own the Gibson Quality,even though its is an Epiphone. My only Complaint is that it is not available as a 5 string, but can be tuned as low as CFBE(top to bottom) with out distortion or clipping.

I normally play metal in a band that plays at least 4 times a week, but I also enjoy a few other styles of music. Now, when I received this guitar, first thing is I was struck by the beauty of the design on this guitar. The artwork is great, but the playability is even better. I gave this guitar a music workover playing styles such as black/death metal, blues, rockabilly, surf rock, and even some classical style pieces, and it played excellent through every genre I threw at it. Excellent for lead or rythm. It hasnt slipped tune on me, no buzz in the frets, electronics all work great. This guitar is well worth the money. The guitar is lightweight, very versatile, ease to play, and looks incredible. It is very simple to use, the 3 knobs are just perfect to control volume and tone, and push pull button to choose between humbucker and single coil is great, even though the humbucker option is great, it makes the guitar really boom, shouting out all the bass and treble possibilities of a guitar. With this option, and choosing you rythm of treble option, you can give this guitar a very deep and warm full of bass tones, very rich, or a very light trebly tone, and if you leave it in the microphone selector in the middle, youll get a full blend of a perfect combination between bassy and trebly tones.

everything on the guitar is spectacular, except the neck joint is on the fat side not letting you hit all 24 frets as easy as you might want to. Otherwise this guitar is solid. performing, and recording. I gave it a 4 only because of the neck, and that id like more of a string through bridge.
