(More customer reviews)I love this pedal for what it does - it does no-change-in-my-tone compression. It doesn't do sustain - it's just plain ol' compression. It is the most transparent compressor that I've tried but, TBH, I'm not too knowledgeable on compressors. I did have a Robert Keeley two knob that I got rid of - didn't like it that much for various reasons. This is a nice compression-only pedal.

(More customer reviews)Everyone has these, and they are good in a pinch.It comes with an exceptionally long cable, and then another exceptionally long chaining cable, but between those, and the 1700mA output, you should be able to power most of a standard medium sized pedal board.For that purpose, and the fact that it's so cheap ($30 to power up all your pedals, when most power adapters on their own are ~$20?That is a stellar deal), these things are great.Like I said, good in a pinch too, and I definitely don't think it's a bad idea to keep one of these around, in the event that your *real* power supply should crap out on you at an inopportune time.This also comes with a plethora of connectors, including battery clips and mini-power inputs.

There's a few reasons why this should not be your *real* power supply.For one, even if you do use only 9V pedals and this has the amperage to power all of them... these are notorious pedal-buzzers.The more effects you add on to it, the buzzier it will get.This is especially bad with anything that has an LFO, which admittedly, most 9V pedals do not... but even still, this is a noisy little device.

Secondly, this won't be able to handle anything that requires AC, and it won't be able to handle any 12V, 18V, or 24V pedals.A lot of pedals are 9V, so this covers most of your bases...but don't count on it to be a solution to all of your pedal problems without doing a little more research into what your pedals need.You can fry your pedals and the power supply if you connect your pedals to the wrong power.

BOSS LMB-3 Bass Limiter Enhancer Pedal Review

(More customer reviews)This pedal is a very good compressor/limiter which does not color or enhance your sound and does not produce unwanted noise UNLESS you use the enhance feature knob which is unusable since if anywhere above 10 Oclock it produces too much hiss. I keep it turned off or almost off. What this pedal does for me is it takes my bass and allows me to slap it as hard as I can without getting any unwanted harsh sounds. It smooths out my tone is and makes me sound like a better player with a better bass. While disenaged it's not true bypass, but is transparent. I have no reason not to keep it on and it's the only pedal I continually use for my bass.

For guitar I have an arsenal of pedals.

For bass it also works better than the RNC (which is great for everything else, except bass), the CE-3, which is designed for guitar unless you have it Modded, the j-station bass/limiter and every software compressor/limiter I have tried.

If you want to get rid of your Bass's harsh tones buy a $1000 on a good made in America J-Bass and have it professionally set up or use this pedal.

Line 6 Floorboard - Guitar Pedal Board Foot Contr Review

(More customer reviews)I use the Floorboard with the Pod Pro, though it is also designed to work with Line 6's Flextone series of amplifiers too. It's really easy to use, although you can either have it in "select the patches" mode, or "manual mode" though you need to be en garde at all times, as the same buttons do different things in the different modes. It has some great - amazing, really - flexibility in the manual edit mode, and brilliantly clever little touches like "boost" functions for EQ, overdrive and distortion. You want to hit that solo? Step on it, and it goes a little louder, a little brighter, or a little nastier depending on what you step on.

However, unless you trained as an organist, in a live session you don't want to be jumping around like Michael Flatley jabbing your toes at various buttons in the manual edit mode, clicking delays in or out, and then switching modes (another button) when you want to change patches - realistically you will just have a patch *with* delay set up next to an identical patch *without* delay. But if you're in patch mode, you don't have access to the boosters - which really would be useful. But it's such a great thing I think, dammit, I'll just get comfortable training to be an organist.

Its construction is as hard as nails, but - and it's a big but - the patch switches kick in a split second after you stamp on them, not immediately, as you'd expect with a stomp box. This is a major weakness. Since I use it with the Pod, and only really in the home studio environment, I can live with this. But I don't think it would fly in a live envinronment. When you want to switch from Fender Tweed to loud JCM for that face melting solo, you want to do it *now* and not some time between now and the next beat. I don't know if this can be fixed in future models, but it needs to be.

G&L USA ASAT Electric Bass (Four String, Tinted Gloss Hard Rock Maple Neck) Review

(More customer reviews)It took me a little while to adjust to this bass, and initially I would give the sound and 5 but the playability a three or four. However, I was coming from a Japanese Aria with a thin neck that could really just shred. After getting used to the dynamic electronics of the G&L, adjusting the setup, and outfitting the bass with Elixir Super Lights, it's a joy to play. It's still chunkier than some European basses (seems most American basses are) but it's rock solid and has incredible sustain. It will make cheap amps sound expensive and expensive amps sound like gold. I keep away from the active option, but if you need extra punch and brightness, punch up the onboard EQ. One design gripe that I don't have to deal with since I never use the active electronics: no easy-to-open battery case. You've got to unscrew the whole back plate, so be god and don't strip the screws.

I highly recommend this bass. It plays above its price point and still provides a classic sound that I never hear from boutique basses. I say all of this having played (and loved) Ibanez SDGRs, Yamaha Stages, Warwick Corvettes (still have a fretless Std.), and OLPs as well as the Aria Pro I mentioned earlier.

(More customer reviews)I sometimes have to practice my electric bass with headphones so as to not disturb my roomate.this unit is a chromatic tuner, metronome, and monitor mixer for headphones.I plug my mp3 player (with headphone output) into the tu88, and my guitar and headphones.I can tune my guitar with audio cues when I'm in tune, then turn down the tuner tones to hear the guitar and mp3.it runs on 9v, but doesn't seem to have auto shut off especially if you leave something pluged into it.overall I'm pleased with the unit.it also has lots of different metronome patterns and a speaker for using the metronome without headphones too!
