(More customer reviews)I've been using my GK800 for years.I run it in bi-amp mode with a Hartke 15XL and a Hartke 210XL.I LOVE the sound this amp produced - punchy and fat, and if you want it, that slight distortion on the hard-hitting notes to make it sound alive.I hate effects on my bass, and this is the only amp that gets THE SOUND without help from compressors, limiters, EQs, etc.I've had this rig on the road for years and it always works, every time, without fail.I've tried other "prestige units" over the years (MARKBass, Eden, Trace Elliot, Mesa Boogie) and they just don't compare.

My only complaint is the weight.When you put it in a rack it's pretty heavy - but well worth the weight!

(More customer reviews)Is weighs in at 41 pounds. Not a light weight by any measure.
It has volume for days, it can shake the house down.
It has tone that can be varied for miles.
I like mine down low and it has it.
It draws a lot of current on turn on. Trips the circuit breaker in my house the first turn on and then it is OK.
Dims the lights for a second first turn on at bars.
Make sure you power up first before everybody else!
Mine made a few crackling sounds about 2.5 hours in but, I turned it off for the last break. repowered and it did fine for the last set.
The intial power draw is a drawback but, it is a 1100 watt amplifier.
Tube preamp, tons of power, It is a KILLER!

(More customer reviews)Just finished an outdoor gig with my new Ampeg SVT410HE extension speaker. I used it with my Fender Pro 400 bass amp and I am very pleased. Super lows and clear crisp trebles. The overall speker config. was six tens. Great volume with no distortion even playing notes up and down the E string. Very exciting! My guitar is the Fender Jazz Bass with the battery powered pickup. For me, an unbeatable combination!!

(More customer reviews)There is nothing real exotic about a 1x15 bass cabinet, but this one does everything I wanted.400 watts is plenty for my needs, and the castors are a huge help.If you think you don't need them, think again.That is a huge bonus.Hartke has always had a punchy sound to my ear, especially their 15's compared to most.

There may be better cabinents out there, but for the money, (I paid $400) I am quite pleased. Oh, it also very light.The castors and the light weight were very important to me, but for others may not be as big a deal.

I play mine through a highly rated Schroeder 12-inch 8-ohm cab, which draws 175 watts; adding another 8-ohm speaker would draw the full 250 watts.With the single speaker, I get amazing tone and power.Of course, it helps that the Schroeder speaker is top quality.

Features: a tube-emulating pre-amp and a solid-state pre-amp.These can be employed separately or blended.The tube-type produces a fatter, old-fashioned sound.EQ sliders are efficient.Compression can be dialed in and is very helpful when playing louder and harder as it prevents sudden strong signals going to the speaker(s).The high- and low-end cut seems somewhat superfluous, being similar in function to the equalization function.But I may be wrong about that.

Strongly built cabinet, convenient handle (on side).Hartke Co. responsive to two emails.An extremely good buy.

(More customer reviews)Hartke products are tough but I don't think this cabinet will handle my Warwick 5 string bass, I think the low B will just flat destroy it. I think it's best to add a 115 cabinet to it. I'm running a SWR chrome face 350 amp through it 240 watts @ 8ohms
