(More customer reviews)I use these on two different basses and love the tone and sustain. On my Music Man 5-string they give me that great slap sound, on my Ibanez 6 string I love the reach and sustain for bass chords and the flexibilty overall. I don't play as much or as well as a pro musician, but for me they sound great and last; which means I'm not changing them every month.
On my fretless I prefer LaBellas, they are smoother than the DR. I also have a 5 dstring with EMG pickups that I put Dean Markley's on that gives me a great driving bump for rock/country.
But my preference for those times when I am only able to take one bass and i am going to be playing a variety of styles is my Ibanez with the DR strings. I can adequately cover most any style with solid tone and sustain. I recommend you at least try them once.
