(More customer reviews)I bought a set of these to replace my stock strings on my Ibanez GSR200. Although they're a bit pricey, they're worth every penny. These strings immediately brought my sound more sustain, punch, as well as a really smooth, nice all-round tone. Personally, I'm more of a blues/jazz bassist so I found these strings especially good for the warmth needed when playing those types of music. However, I have also played with metal/classic rock bands with these strings, and they work fantastically well! Adjusting the tone controls on your bass guitar/amplifier can really get you that growl/punch that's necessary... these strings are THE most versatile on the planet and amazon has the best price on these! Also note that these strings are smoother than a baby's bottom, so you can say goodbye to all those callouses and dry fingertips.
If you're comparing these to rotosound, I'll have you know that there is no comparison. These strings are the best bass strings, hands-down. I've used rotosounds and they're much rougher on the fingers and don't sound as deep as the D'Addario's.
