(More customer reviews)These strings provide the tone, clarity, and response a bassist is looking for to satisfy the music/style you are wanting to achieve.They 'ring' really well, nice sustain, no observable dead 'zones' or spots.Have only had them a month with approximately 10 hours of playing time.Tone and response (with great harmonic overtones) still very good, however the tension (load) they put on my Peavey Cirrus bass (tuning to A=440) is greater due to larger dia. D and G strings than I'm used to , therefore the neck bow increased.I didn't really want to fuss with adjusting the neck bow so I opted to remove these strings and use them on my Kramer Stagemaster bass (vintage 1980 aluminum neck, extremely stiff and stable) and revert to using Peavey strings, which don't have quite the brightness or overtone clarity but don't distort the neck beyond what I prefer for setup and action.

(More customer reviews)This is an "always on" pedal for me.This is a great product by a great company and it does one thing and does it well.This is the pedal version of the rack unit utilized in many artists' studios.

Here's how it works:
Essentially, low and high frequency sound waves travel through the air at different speeds and hit your ears at different times.This sometimes contributes to tones that are not pleasing.This pedal sorts out the frequencies and aligns them so they travel through the air at the same speed.

Results:
Ultimately, this provides a clearer, punchier tone that sounds fuller.However, like any processing unit, too much of a good thing is detrimental to your tone and will leave it sounding very "digital" and artificial.I tend to run the PROCESS knob just below 12 o'clock and the LO CONTOUR knob at 1 o'clock.

As a point of reference, I play a Fender Strat through a Blues Junior.This pedal helps with the "boxiness" of the Blues Junior's small size and cheap cabinet material.it will NOT transform your amp into something it is not.It will help with some of the inherent sonic short comings with amplifiers.

(More customer reviews)I figured at this low of a price these things would be junk, boy was I wrong! These strings on a 1990 P Bass have a nice warm throaty tone, with clean highs and full bell tones on even the lower harmonics. These sound good enough that as my Dean Markley strings wear out I am seriously thinking about switching over. for me a good warm tone is everything and these babies deliver. If you want a good warm throaty tone and a crazy price, pick up a set of these, at this low a price sooner or later somebody is gonna grow a brain and raise the price on these gems. Snatch them while you can!!!
