(More customer reviews)I bought this pedal as an overdrive for my 59 Fender Bassman. It sounds great for blues, country, rock, and punk. I did have some intermintent crakle sound problems with the pedal when I first got it that required some tinkering with the internal circutry. I do like that the pedal does come with a ac adapter because batteries get expensive quick. Just as previews reviewers have stated, the gain is slightly high end shifted meaning that the pedal produces most of it's break up high in the frequency spectrum. I tend to like my sound with a little more low end then this pedal produces but if I am playing the aforementioned genres then this pedal cuts through perfectly in both live and studio mixes. I don't recomend this pedal for metal and I only recomend playing this pedal through a tube amp as it was intended.
