(More customer reviews)a nobody is a nobody, unless the take action into there own hands. of coarse, you have to start somewhere. for me, i wanted to learn how to play an electric bass. it was easy to understand TABS. but i wanted to understand the different positions translated into notes on a scale. mel bay's bass chord chart really helped me out. on the cover of the chart is a bass with the frets and strings numbered and lettered. this gives a scale of each note by the string and gives the note on a scale sheet. very helpful for a beginner

Root notes are clearly marked as diamonds and all the other chord tones are shown as circles for ease of playing. Also included is a chart showing names and locations of notes on all frets and strings, enharmonic equivalents, and their positions within the bass clef.
