(More customer reviews)This is what Teac/Tascam recommends as the power adapter for their CD-VT-2 vocal and instrument trainer so in the interest of saving batteries and also not running into trouble using an off-brand adapter, I shelled out the bucks for the offically recommended model.
Although expensive, it is obviously of high build quality: it is sturdy, heavy, and works fine with the instrument trainer. For the difference in price between this and a non-Tascam product, I think it is worth spending more for peace of mind.
